Back to the Base<\/g><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In order to record new songs, I decided to return to Buenos Aires where I had my recording gear waiting for me in storage. Thank God nothing got stolen or damaged while I was gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recording Turkish Rock Albums in Argentinian Airbnbies<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This time around in Buenos Aires I was able to find an awesome Airbnb with a double discount. Since no one had rented the place before me, I was able to get a special discount for it, in addition, I was able to get a second discount for staying over a month. The place ended up being perfect for recording. Decent acoustics for mixing, and no one complaining if I\u2019d be playing guitar at two in the morning. On top of being convenient for rock n\u2019 roll activities, the apartment is located at walking distance from my favorite park in Buenos Aires. I got into an excellent routine of working in the morning, going to the park to play my songs in the afternoon, and record at night. I managed to do this for about nine weeks straight. I love rock n’ roll camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This apartment where I am currently staying at is the ninth roof I am staying under in Buenos Aires. It ended up being the best housing situation I ever got into in this complicated city. I am thinking of finding a way to be a referral for good Airbnb apartments I stayed at. This way I could contribute to helping other travelers to avoid major headaches due to housing, and I could get some Airbnb discounts to help me pursue my adventure for a lesser cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logistics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The logistics to get all my recording and cold-press juicing gear from the storage place with Uber rides and set up my semi-nomadic home studio was a bit of a challenge, but it worked out all fine. It was definitely a financial investment to come back to an expensive city like Buenos Aires and rent an unshared apartment, but I believe that it was definitely worth it. I really needed to record some new material. Now that I am going to hit the road again to play my music in front of people, I am hoping that the synergy between the live performances and the digital releases is going to make this project move forward nicely in\u015fallah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am planning on leaving Buenos Aires end of April. This time around I am hoping to manage to leave town before wintertime. As much as I love Buenos Aires, the winter here I don\u2019t like it at all. Summer and fall seasons are the best from my point of view. Especially when the city empties out during holydays<\/g> and weekends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Month of Algorithmic Playlist Success
<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you are reading this and have any sort of interest in my music, please support this new release by streaming the song<\/a>, adding it to your favorites, and of course to your playlists. Each time the song is streamed, saved or added to a playlist on Spotify, this helps Black Sea Storm reach a greater audience. I recorded and released a song called \u201cKay\u0131p Bir A\u015fk<\/a>\u201d nine years ago. Recently it made its way into Spotify’s Discover Weekly<\/a> playlists for four consecutive weeks. This resulted in Black Sea Storm having about 9,600 listeners a month at one point. This is pretty huge for a one-man band making music in Airbnb apartments while traveling the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am so grateful<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To be picked up by algorithms and get more exposure was a huge source of motivation for me. I am going to work harder to repeat this kind of experience. It\u2019s just a great feeling to wake up a Tuesday morning check out my Monday stats and see that over 900 people streamed over 1.3K of Black Sea Storm jams in just 24 hours. I\u2019m sure this kind of performance is nothing compared to more established acts, but for me it\u2019s gigantic. I am thankful to all the people who are listening to my music online and supporting me when I am playing the streets with my acoustic guitar. I pray for you all every night and send you all the positive energy I can.
